The exhibition hall of the Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan is hosting the exhibition «When the Test Site Fell Silent: The Word That Changed History», dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the closure of the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site and the 90th birthday of Olzhas Suleimenov.
The exhibition hall of the Presidential Center is a unique venue for exhibitions and events dedicated to important milestones in the history of our country. A special place belongs to projects united by the idea of preserving and reflecting on the historical and cultural heritage of Kazakhstan: «The Cultural Code of Independence», «Dialogue through Culture», «The Kazakhstan Way». Within these projects, exhibitions have been held over the years to mark the 35th anniversary of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Kazakhstan and the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, as well as vernissages of the well-known Kazakhstani artists Kamil Mullashev, Nelly Bube, Kazakbay Azhibekov, Denis Makenuly and other representatives of national art.
An important area of the hall's work is the development of international cultural dialogue. Joint art projects and international exhibitions carried out with the participation of foreign organizations and diplomatic missions widen the space of cultural exchange and present Kazakhstan as a state open to dialogue and cooperation. Such projects include the joint exhibition of the Kazakhstani artist Ali Akzhan and the Austrian artist Florian Esner, the photo exhibition «Korean Shamanism» with the participation of the Korean Cultural Center, and the exhibition «Cooperation for Peace» prepared together with the UN Office in Kazakhstan, among others.
The variety of projects creates the special atmosphere of the exhibition space, where history and the present day, national tradition and world culture enter into a meaningful dialogue. The visual landscape changes here, new names and ideas appear, and art becomes a tool for reflecting on the historical path of Kazakhstan, the values of Independence and the contemporary cultural process.
